St. John's Polytechnic is an institute run by the Mitra Charitable Trust and managed by the Vincentian Congregation with the vision to empower today's youth with Technical Education and help them keep pace with the ever changing world of science and technology.
The social concern of a few educated and kind hearted Minority Christian Ladies and Gentlemen to provide the youth with technical education resulted in the Registration of MITRA CHARITABLE TRUST in 1992. With the vision to empower the youth to compete with the ever changing world of science and technology, ST. JOHN’S POLYTECHNIC was started in 1992, Recognized by Govt. of Karnataka, Directorate of Technical Education & Affiliated to B.T.E., Bangalore, Karnataka & Approved by AICTE, New Delhi.
Modern buildings have been built for class rooms, Laboratories, Library, Engineering Drawing Hall and other facilities. The calm green ambience and the play ground create a genuine academic atmosphere. Hundreds of diploma graduates have been trained from this institute and are well placed across the globe.
Vincentian Congregation
ST. JOHN’S POLYTECHNIC is managed by the St. Joseph's Province of the Vincentian Congregation which is the educational arm of VINCENTIAN CONGREGATION, a Catholic religious community started in 1904.
The Congregation draws its spirit and distinctive character from the life and works, and the Common Rules of St. Vincent de Paul who was chosen as the Father and Patron of the Vincentian Congregation. The Congregation has taken its motto, “He has sent me to proclaim the good news to the Poor” (Luke.4:18), which inspired St. Vincent de Paul. The specific and pre-eminent purpose of the congregation is the evangelization of the poor, especially the more abandoned. It is realized in the popular Mission retreats, preaching ministry, missionary works and through charitable, social and educational apostolate.
Inspired by the example of St. Vincent de Paul, the members of the Congregation undertake various educational/charitable/spiritual activities for the upliftment of the society and especially that of the marginalized sections. It is in sync with this great inheritance that DiST has envisioned itself and shaped the course of its activities. Our vision is to build up a center par excellence equipped to mould outstanding young professionals in relevant fields integrating the physical, intellectual, emotional and spiritual dimensions of their lives through focused training and person specific career counseling so that they may observe unflinching allegiance to the society.
